Both patches display early patch characteristics: (1) raw, frayed edges; (2) finer, thinner embroidery material compared to later thicker ones, (3) somewhat special facial features, and (4) telltale rear backing appearance. Very remarkable patch on the left in main frame is c. 1940-1941; patch on right is circa 1943-44. These are unmistakenly WW2 period examples. Led by Major General Walter Robertson, 2nd Division saw combat at Omaha Beach on D-Day and Battle of the Bulge later that year. Condition is very good.
