The collar tab featuring one Pip (Star) together with single center stripe denoting the rank of Oberscharfuhrer (staff sergeant) was worn on service tunic’s left side collar. Both collar tabs possess a twisted- cord in white & black edged piping. Collar tab featuring “R35 / 171” identifies wearer’s specific Standarte (Regiment) belonging to SA Gruppe Sudwest (171). R35 most likely refers to specific RZM manufacturer. This collar tab was worn on right side collar. Attached to the rear of this regimental collar tab is the partial remains of an RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) tag with number “500.” These noncommissioned officer collar tabs from almost 100 years ago show exactly the proper construction, materials, and wear to be expected. SA (Stormabteilung) Brownshirts was the original Paramilitary wing of the party. This rare pair of collar tabs is 100% authentic and unmolested museum quality.
