Original German WW2 Wehrmacht-issued MG 34/42 Split-Leather Carrying Sling. These dark brown slings (Geteilte Trageriemen) were made from two pieces of smooth leather sewn together at each end. Middle section was always padded.. Used in various ways: side carrying, shoulder carrying, standing upright while firing, and in conjunction with anti-aircraft tripod. Many firms were making the leather and end buckles. Main supplier of buckles was Schmole & Co. in Sauerland.
