This top quality officer's map case is made of supple reddish-brown pebbled leather in excellent condition. The leather is totally unmolested and well maintained. There are absolutely no repairs, no tears, no splits, no stains, or any type of disfigurement like other examples currently being marketed today. The inside flap contains soldier's initials DES inside a circle with a lightning bolt. Inside the pouch is a RARE Wehrmacht issued European theatre map (GOLDATEN-ATLAS) dated 1941. The map is labeled "TORNISTERSCHRIFT DES OBERKOMMANDOS DER WEHRMACHT ABT INLAND." A wartime vintage wooden 7 inch ruler is included as well. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship to augment any serious German Wehrmacht collection.
