German WW2 M-31 Aluminum Mess Kit (Kochgeschir) Dated 1944. Metal hold-down is marked MN 44. Manufactured by Metallindustrie GMbH Neunkirchen – Saar. These mess kits were made in both aluminum and thin steel alloy. The Luftwaffe and other elite troops preferred aluminum due to its lightness. Completely functional, having the correct patina; no denting or crushing of the top lip or body whatsoever.
